We believe if the child is in our seat, we can help them. Our program is designed with the highest regard for helping struggling learners in the State of Florida. We tutor students in Kindergarten through 8th grade in reading or math. Our professionally trained tutors, most of whom are certified teachers from the local school and community are trained to ensure that our students are always supervised.
Five Years of Helping Florida Children
We are a Florida-based company in our fifth year of operation. Our program is housed mainly in the local schools and local teachers are hired to do the tutoring. Our classes are held two days a week for 90 minutes each day and we tutor in small groups and large groups if needed. A key component of our program is the goal setting conference which allows all parties: parents, and school personnel to review the schools results from the FCAT, DIBELS, and other school information and an analysis of a diagnostic pretest if needed. With this information, we develop a Student Learning Plan with specific goals and individualized curriculum for the student. To ensure scope and sequence of skills taught through tutoring, we have aligned our curriculum with the Sunshine State Standards, the child's classroom curriculum and the master plan of each School District we serve, employing a variety of research-based strategies.
Emphasis on Reading or Math
Our program emphasizes 5 reading strands and 5 math strands. Frequent assessment and reporting progress are key components of effective teaching and we present a progress report monthly to parents, teachers and school districts. Our company may administer a post test to determine student growth and curriculum strengths and weaknesses. We are happy to report, there have been significant reading or math gains in every school district we serve.
Well-trained Tutors
In addition to state requirements of our tutors, our company conducts initial and on-going training for tutors expressing the importance of fidelity in our program.
Completion Celebration
At the end of the program we invite parents, tutors, and students to celebrate their work ethic in the tutoring sessions. We also give the parents and students a chance to share what the children got out of the program. The positive feedback is uplifting. In our effort to develop the whole child we hold them responsible for working with a positive attitude, and attending tutoring classes every day. Our tutoring company takes pride and counts it a privilege to provide supplemental services in reading or math to the students in the State of Florida.
